The Story of Earworm
Earworm was founded in 2024 by Lewis Brown. Lewis always liked sharing his musical opinions on Facebook before a friend encouraged him finally to start a website in order to explore his ideas further; hence Earworm was born.
What Is an ‘Earworm’?
The definition of an earworm, according to Dictionary.com, is ‘a tune or part of a song that repeats in one’s mind.’
Lewis always has a song stuck in his head – what he calls ‘Head Radio’. Wanting others to experience the same love for music he has, Earworm seemed the perfect name for a site dedicated to sharing the glorious world of music with others.
Why Read Earworm?
Unlike the physical musical magazines which Lewis read in his younger years, Earworm intends to bring to the fore the best of all music rather than specialising in one genre alone. Earworm understands that many people have varied taste in music, not wanting simply to focus on one particular sound or style. With the digital age making it easier than ever to share music from all around the world – and from all time – Earworm aims to fill the gap in the market for eclectic listeners.
That is why the news, views, and weekly suggested playlists cover everything from the latest album releases to rare B-sides from the past. Earworm gives music fans the chance to relive the joy of their favourite music and to discover more brilliant sounds that will get stuck in their heads.
Lewis Brown
Lewis has always had a deep love of music. What started off as dancing to the Outhere Brothers’ Boom Boom Boom as an infant turned into trying to learn to play all of his favourite songs on guitar in his teenage years and spending Saturdays buying CDs from HMV. This passion only grew, fuelling his desire to explore new music and to share his musical opinions with friends and family. Raised on soul music, but listening to rock and metal music with his friends, Lewis eventually started to dive into indie, jazz, folk, R&B, hip hop, electronic, country, and much, much more.
